For Teens
Serving Students in 6th-12th Grades

Equine Science
This program is offered on Fridays from 9:00am-2:00pm at the Gracelynned Farm in Ft. Lupton, Colorado and covers horsemanship, riding, grooming, anatomy, and care of the horse. We have two wonderful horses in the program who love to help us teach. The farm grows its own hay, and hosts many animals. Topics in pasture management, veterinary care, feeding, and farriering will be covered.

Culinary Arts
Together, we plan menus, purchase ingredients, and cook meals while also adding information about nutrition every day. Math is incorporated into budgeting, measuring, and interpreting nutrition labels. This is a fun way to incorporate collaboration and teamwork into our week. (Learn about Darragh)

Writer's Workshop
This class is presented in the form of journal entries, paragraph development, and the exploration of the creative processes of writing. Students are encouraged to think of writing as a tool for communication that is both artistic and expressive. We will work through the writing process from brainstorming ideas to presentation; covering topic sentences, thesis statements, outlines, paragraphs, drafting, editing, and final products. Students will build confidence in their ability to write well-formed essays on a variety of topics including expository research, personal narrative, compare and contrast, descriptions, and more.
